Whether you want to stroll over the water, take photos or simply take a deep breath, our 13 Baltic Sea bridges are an experience you don’t want to miss!

Timmendorfer Strand: Teehausbrücke

Length: 150 meters
Year of construction: 2012
Highlight: Popular photo and wedding location

The teahouse bridge is a real eye-catcher. At the end of the 150-metre-long wooden bridge is a glass structure reminiscent of a Japanese teahouse. It is home to the Wolkenlos café and restaurant with a large terrace – perfect for a coffee with an ocean view.
Special feature: The floor of the pier is partly made of glass; you can see the sea right beneath your feet!

Timmendorfer Strand: Maritim pier

Length: 427 meters
Year of construction: 2024
Highlight: Unique circular trail over the water

Timmendorfer Strand has had a second, spectacular pier since 2024. The new Maritim pier runs in a circular path over the water and offers ever-changing views of the coastline. At the top of the almost 430-metre-long wooden bridge, you can relax on wooden seating or watch ships dock.

Haffkrug pier

Length: 230 meters
Year of construction: 2024
Highlight: Perfect photo spot with weather shelter

Haffkrug’s 230-meter-long pier has plenty of room for everyone. What makes it special? There is a two-storey platform at the bridgehead. At the top there are loungers and benches for relaxing and looking out at the sea, while excursion boats dock below. If the weather doesn’t play ball, the covered shelter in the middle of the bridge offers a dry retreat.

Niendorf pier

Length: 185 meters
Year of construction: 2014
Highlight: Integrated children’s playground

This pier is a real experience for the whole family. Seen from above, it is shaped like a fish – with eyes, fins and a small mouth. On the bridge you can visit a playground, climb into the water via the hydraulic bathing jetty or simply enjoy the magnificent view of the horizon.

Dahme pier

Length: 205 meters
Year of construction: 1979
Highlight: “Sky loungers” with a sea view

Thatched cottages and idyllic dykes, the village of Dahme has charm! The 30-year-old pier on the long sandy beach impresses with its classic simplicity. The pier forecourt is particularly cozy. Here you will find wooden “sky loungers” for relaxing and with space for two to three people. There are also regular events such as the Fischerbudentreff.
Special feature: Fishing is permitted on the pier from November to February!

Kellenhusen pier

Length: 305 meters
Year of construction: 2007
Highlight: Colorful illumination in the evening

This bridge is a great place to spend the whole day! Hammocks invite you to relax on the first few meters. There is a swimming area with play facilities in the middle and excursion boats depart for Fehmarn at the end. After dark, the bridge is illuminated in changing colors; perfect for your vacation Instagram post!

Grömitz pier

Length: 400 meters
Year of construction: 1983 (last renewed in 2022)
Highlight: Diving gondola for underwater adventures

This pier has comfortable swivel chairs, climbing nets, a lighthouse slide and even a diving gondola that you can use to dive into the Baltic Sea. With a bit of luck, you might spot grey seals, jellyfish and fish in the depths of the sea.

Heiligenhafen pier

Length: 435 meters
Year of construction: 2012
Highlight: Glazed sea lounge

The Heiligenhafen pier excels in multiple areas! It has several bridgeheads and branches. One leads to a playground, another to seating areas, and at the far end there is a glassed-in sea lounge that offers you a great view even in windy weather. 

Tip: In summer, be sure to bring your swimsuit – there is direct access to the sea at one of the bridgeheads!

Großenbrode pier

Length: 310 meters
Year of construction: 1979
Highlight: Shower phone booth on the beach

The classic bridge, over 300 meters long, takes you out to sea. What makes it special? Right next to the bathing area is an old telephone box that has been converted into a beach shower – filtered Baltic Sea water gushes out of the shower head!

Glücksburg pier

Length: 106 meters
Year of construction: 2017 renewed
Highlight: Cozy resting place with a view of Denmark

Small but beautiful! From this pier, you have a fantastic view of the Flensburg Fjord and the Danish coast. It’s particularly cozy at the bridgehead, where you can relax on benches and watch the ferries pass by.
Special feature: You can board the ferry directly from the pier and travel to Flensburg and back!

Schönberger Strand pier

Length: 206 meters
Year of construction: 2001
Highlight: Annual pier festival

In good weather you have an incredible view from this pier, all the way to Brazil! No joke: Schönberg beach borders on the districts of Brazil and California. There’s a lot going on here, especially in summer, when the three-day pier festival provides a great atmosphere and entertainment.

Hohwacht pier

Length: 80 meters
Year of construction: 2004
Highlight: Flounder-shaped platform

With its unusual shape, this bridge is a real eye-catcher. The platform stretches out into the sea like a flounder. It is suspended from a 24-metre-high blue steel pylon. You can take part in open-air yoga here in summer.

Weißenhäuser Strand pier

Length: 130 meters
Year of construction: 1979 (renovated in 2023)
Highlight: Regular fireworks

This gently curving pier was renovated in 2023 and offers a wide seating platform with direct access to the water. Particularly atmospheric: fireworks regularly light up the night sky over the Baltic Sea.
